There was a massive 6.4 magnitude earthquake hit the Andaman Nicobar Islands on march 30th. The earthquake struck 137 miles north of Port Blair. Tremors were reportedly felt in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Jajpur and Khurda in Orissa. Mild tremors were also felt in Chennai and parts of Tamil Nadu. Danfoss played their second match against Renault Nissan on 27th feb at the Vidhoyadaya school. Having lost the first match danfoss was under tremendous pressure to win the upcoming matches. Santosh, the captain was confident of winning the next match. After completing the practise session on friday he was confident on his boys and said they will fight back to win the match, in a meeting. Shiva, their opener was not in their team and they had some injury scare in the team. However danfoss lost the toss and were put into fielding by Nissan. Nissan scored 71 runs in their allotted 12 overs. Danfoss sticked on to the ethics and they bowled a good spell especially ashok, nithin suresh, vijay and gitanz. The fielding was also good especially form siddharth. Chasing a total of 72 seemed easy but Nissan didnt give up. Ashok and Gitanz opened the batting. Ashok hit two sixers in the first over, however he was caught behind in the last ball of the first over. There is a gossip that he was in a emergency to go to the showroom for buying the bike and so he completed his innings quickly. Gitanz was out immediately but there was a steady partnership between santosh (captain) and vijay. Santosh played the captain's knock and took the game away from nissan. He scored 35 runs n.o while vijay was out on 18 runs. Santosh was declared man of the match for his knock. Santosh is expected to give treat for his innings to his mates in this week.

ICTBCT tournament has started this month. Danfoss is also participating in the tournament. Danfoss played their first match against Caterpillar in the valluvar kottam Vidhyodaya school. The team comprised of Santosh (captain), Nithin Suresh (VC), Shiva, Gitanz, Ashok, Siddharth, Tamizh selvan, Vijay, Ajay, Azhar, Sai suresh. The danfoss captain Mr. Santosh has won the toss and elected to field. They should have batted first but they have fielded. Caterpillar scored 114 in 12 overs. Last three overs proved costly for danfoss. Abhijit scored 81 runs. Danfoss were all out in 76 runs from 9.3 overs. Wickets were falling at regular intervals but there was a steady partnership between ashok and vijay but they too fell soon. Finally they lost by a big margin. Captain santosh played a nothing shot and was caught in the off side. He was really disappointed the way his team performed in the match but he is confident of winning the next two matches in the league.

Finally Ajith's Asal has hit the theatres today, 5th feb. The story has come good and it is a treat for his fans. The story is a little bit like the English Godfather movie. With two heroines in the form of Bhavana and Sameera Reddy, director Saran has did his part. I watched the film with my friends in the preview show near my area. The movie starts with actor Ajith, who is an underworld don. Ajith has passion for Guantanamera cigars. The real action, drama and suspense begins when Ajith's entire gang mysteriously killed. All of sudden, second Ajith appears on silver screen, who tries to solve the mystery behind mass killing. You can guess, this Ajith is police or intelligence officer or something else. To solve this mystery, you have to visit nearby theaters or multiplex. The camerawork keeps the viewer visually pleased, partially compensating for flaws in the script. Action should have been better. Only the fight between Ajith and Kelly close to the interval stirs up excitement, it is plain on all other occasions.

Asal is a full length celebration of Ajith’s persona, something his fans will absolutely adore. But, the film does have its weak points too. It is indeed sad that such a potential team ended up shooting a rather weak script. The main defect here is the characters sketch of the villains. He strides the screen with ease, having a presence that few others can boast of. He looks stylish in every frame; the hairstyle, the sideburns and the cigar sit well on him. In fact, Ajith’s presence is one of the main factors that stops one from getting bored. Sampath, Rajeev Krishna and Pradeep Rawat do their jobs as villains without too great an impact. As said above, their characters look like weak adversaries for Ajith. Sameera Reddy has a role of consequence in the movie and does pretty well, but there is no huge scope for performance. Bhavana looks cute in a role that demands only as much. Overall my rating for this film is 3/5. Thala Ajith has satisfied his fans in this film Asal.

In November, the last month for which city-wide data is available, 17 metropolitan areas had unemployment rates topping 15 percent, according to the Labor Department.

While cities such as the manufacturing centers in the Midwest will soldier on with steep jobless rates for the next half-decade, many areas will see their rates fall below 5 percent. The mid-Atlantic region, which includes the nation's capital of Washington, D.C., will likely have an unemployment rate of 4.3 percent by the end of 2013, according to the report. Boulder, Colorado, will have a slightly higher rate of 4.7 percent, followed by Honolulu, Hawaii at 5 percent. Aayirathil oruvan - Released with lots of expectations. The songs were a hit before the film was released. I watched this film on the first day. To get the tickets for this film was a great achievement. The initial opening song was nice with rima sen dance. The story was the expenditure of Missing Andrea’s father (Prathap pothan) and Missing pandian statues, which is consider as the assistors god. As they are on the way to expenditure they have to cross 7 traps like serpants, sea, kaattuvasis, etc which they need to cross to go to that place. The teams were well aware of the problems and risks about the place they are travelling. The movie starts with Andrea and reema along with archeological team is planning to go to island near vietnam in search of missing prathap archeologist. Here comes our hero. Karthi’s introduction was damn cool. Reema sen was damn hot throughout the movie. The movie started with Andrea working as archeologist and karthi as low wage worker(normal worker). Andrea’s father(Prathap pothan) went in research of chozha place found to be missing. The first half is superb. In second half the king sholan(partiban) took the credits. He acted superbly along with reema sen. SelvaRaghavan has taken the movie to the next level even he took Tamil cinema to next level. R.parthiban’s, karthi, andrea and reema acting are very good. In second half we can get a Hollywood effect of movie. This movie has all sorts of ingredients to the audience especially for youth. Hope this work will give him a great success in coming film. I would rate this movie as 3.25 out of 5 because of costume designs and location. After a great struggle the movie has finally released. The movie has taken more than 2 years of production. But the pictures depicted in the wall and other incidents in the film indicate the srilankan issue. Really it is a very god film to watch but definitely not with family.

This is my 100th post. My birthday falls on december 17. It was December 16th night when my friends called me to friensds house. We were playing shuttle and cards till 12 a.m. Suddenly they kept the cake in front of me and i cut the cake.. We enjoyed the night by eating cake and throwing cakes at each others face. My friends chinna, vinod, dinesh, velu, rajesh, kamaraj, anish, jai, and many enjoyed there.

December 17th i started my beautiful day with the blessings of my parents and my brother. Evening i cut the cake in the presence of my parents, brother, neighbours and some friends(sriram, prabhu, rajkumar, harisha, mercy, pooja, monika, ashok). Harley-Davidson took almost 2 years to plan the launch of its brand retail outlets in the Indian subcontinent. And finally they are close to launching, nearly 2 years after receiving the import license for the Indian market.India’s ministry of shipping, road transportation and highways had earlier rejected Harley Davidson’s proposal to come to India saying that India lacked prescribed emission norms for motorcycles with an engine capacity more than 500cc. Although, after that, many bikes have been allowed imports which do have engine capacity above 500cc, which includes 1300cc Suzuki Hayabusa last November.The company would launch bikes whose price tag would range from Rs 4 – 14 lakhs via the CBU route (which will see 60% import duty) by the end of 2009. Subsequently, it may consider assembling its low-end Sportster 883 at its proposed Greenfield assembly facility (in a CKD form), although the location has not yet been finalized.

Hi Friends!! Sony is know beat for their sound clarity and picture clarity. Sony Ericsson has decided to put the two Walkman and Cybershot brands together in the new Satio. This means an industry-leading camera, a full range of multimedia playback options and it's based on Symbian S60 5th edition to boot. The overall feel of the handset is odd. Thanks to the sheer range of camera-related gadgetry on board the rear of the phone has a massive camera section bolted to the back, which makes it a little chunky.There is a front facing video camera on there too for all that video calling fun everyone has these days, but it's down the sides of the phone where the button frenzy really begins. On the left-hand side is the slider for unlocking the phone (which is in just about the right place for most hands), the standard Sony Ericsson port for USB connection, charging and headphone connection (boo!). One might argue that even the first part too looked pretty much like a glamour parade. But, there was also the plot of the police being on the trail of this serial womanizer, his eventual arrest and an interesting courtroom battle where the accused becomes the acquitted through continuous denial and careful arguments. This element goes missing here. The law is not after him. The women who have been subject to his treachery do try to get back at him together, but it is too weak and too late in the movie to salvage lost interest. It is a timid sort of a response to a huge fraud that has been committed and is snuffed out pretty nonchalantly by the criminal; does not make for engaging viewing at all. It is as if the Casanova is walking from room to room through doors that open at a click; the women fall so easily into his trap. He moves from one woman to the next, easily accomplishes his mission and takes away a huge amount of money. It is like different episodes of the Casanova’s exploits being put together. The only connecting subplot comes in the form of Sangeetha’s character that plays a handicapped immigrant Sri Lankan widow. She is facing a tough situation regarding the custody of her only child. She needs money to settle the issue and surprisingly our Casanova comes to her aid, giving her the required amount which of course has been aggregated from his games with many innocent women. The climax too is on expected lines. He easily evades the efforts of the wronged women to corner him and escapes to some distant place where he is ready to begin his games afresh. The means that another sequel is on the minds of the makers!

Quite clearly, the idea was to carry forward the momentum provided by the success of the predecessor. But with the screenplay failing, Naan Avan Illai loses brand value. The makers have gone full throttle when it comes to glamour which is along expected lines, which also justifies the A rating. But, even those who are looking for a glamour fest might find the proceedings uninteresting. Jeevan has had a field day with four heroines; he does his usual stuff as the man who can enchant any woman. The four heroines have nothing but glamour to provide, as per the script’s requirement. Sangeetha’s role has the potential to give her some scope for performance, but her wings too are cut off by the screenplay. Music, camera and other technical aspects don’t impress much, especially because the proceedings are jaded.

MATHIYA CHENNAI- MOVIE REVIEW

Except for a few known faces including a cameo by Prakash Raj, the movie largely has debutants in the lead with Jayvanth playing the lead. The story is big enough to be scribbled in a post-it note. The protagonist earns the ire of a gangster after crossing roads with him but merits the love of his daughter. He goes on to make a movie with the help of his daughter but when it was ready for release, the enraged father pulls out all the stops to prevent it from screening. But in the process, he ends up with blood in his hand. Repenting for his act and seeking peace, he goes back to the slum and starts serving the poor who he earlier treated like slaves. Dramatic indeed.

The movie heaves its way through the total duration with no specific drive in the plot. The screenplay is ridden with loopholes and the strictly so-so performances do nothing to improve the proceedings. Kanja Karuppu’s comedy induces yawn than laughter. Your surprise of spotting Ilayaraja’s name in the opening credits remains just that, a surprise. Neither the songs nor the background score has any Ilayaraja stamp on it, surprisingly. And if that’s not enough, there’s another surprise in the name of Karthik Raja, he’s the cinematographer of the movie.The name Mathiya Chennai might evoke a sense of revulsion but the movie is not about repulsive gangsters or gang wars. It’s a rather plain story of love and loss that treads the same old path of love, vengeance, guilt and other dramatic emotions.

(In an interaction with the media on his completing 20 years in international cricket, Tendulkar said: “I am a Maharashtrian and I am extremely proud of that. But I am an Indian first. And Mumbai belongs to all Indians.”). Mr. Thackeray, in a front-page, signed letter addressed to Sachin in the Sena mouthpiece Saamna, said: “You left your usual ground and entered the political arena and you said everyone in India has an equal right over Mumbai. Sachin, hearing these words, the Marathi heart is torn. What was the need to say this? What was the need to fuel the migration into Mumbai? While speaking of Marathi pride why did you have to take a “cheeky single” by bringing in Mumbai? You have been run out from the pitch of the Marathi heart.”

2011 ICC WORLD CUP CRICKET MATCH FIXTURES

International Cricket Council's (ICC) World Cup Organising Committee, headed by former cricket board president Sharad Pawar, on Tuesday decided to shift the 2011 World Cup secretariat to Mumbai from Lahore, after Pakistan was stripped of their 2011 World Cup hosting rights by the ICC earlier this month due to security concerns.

India will host the final and one semi-final of the 2011 World Cup while Sri Lanka will stage the other semi-final, the tournament's organising committee decided in Mumbai on Tuesday. India will host 29 of the 49 matches across eight venues, Sri Lanka will host 12 in three venues while Bangladesh will stage eight at two grounds as well as the opening ceremony on February 18, 2011.

Bangladesh would host the opening ceremony of the 2011 World Cup as well as eight matches, which would be played on two venues, Lorgat said.

The 14 matches originally scheduled to take place in Pakistan have been redistributed with eight going to India, four to Sri Lanka and two to Bangladesh. The quarter-finals will be shared India and Sri Lanka one each while Bangladesh hosting two.

The ICC's decision has left India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh as the three sub-continental co-hosts of the mega event.

Former Pakistan captain Javed Miandad today lavished praise on batting great Sachin Tendulkar and said the young cricketers in the sub-continent should follow his example if they are serious about carving out a career in cricket. Miandad was all praise for the Tendulkar, who completed 17,000 ODI runs in the fifth one-day international against Australia at Hyderabad today. "I think the way Tendulkar has handled his career and lasted for so long, keeping his passion for runs alive, is a lesson for budding young cricketers in Pakistan and India," Miandad said. "Youngsters should adopt Tendulkar as their role model if they want to progress in the sport," he added. Miandad said he admired the way Tendulkar had kept his hunger alive for runs despite having such a long career.

Batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar rated his 175 against Australia here Thursday as one of the best knocks of his career. Tendulkar scored 175 off 141 ball, enroute to his record 17,168 runs, but couldn't prevent India from losing the fifth ODI to Australia by three runs. 'I thought we started off really well then lost wickets. Suresh (Raina) and I had a good partnership but in the end, it was disappointing. MAIN AURR MRS KHANNA MOVIE REVIEW

The movie is about Mr and Mrs Khanna, their life, their love and their separation. Salman falls in love with Kareena and marries her and takes her to Melbourne. Due to some bad decisions he loses his job and is unable to find a new one. His work affects his personal life too. Salman asks Kareena to go back to India while he goes to Singapore but Kareena stays back without Salman's approval. In the airport, Kareena meets Sohail and they become good friends. Sohail secretly loves Kareena too. But Kareena is still mad about Salman Khan. Will Salman return? Will Sohail's love succeed? Catch it in a theatre near you. The biggest drawback of Main aur Mrs. Khanna is that the emotional conflict between the three is lacking. Prem R. Soni just misses it and tries to build around a story which is foundation-less. The scenes where Salman tries to woo Kareena are well crafted but once we come back to the present the proceedings get rather unrealistic. And the climax which could have changed the fate of the movie ends without the surprise element and the 'Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa' kind of end doesn't help either.

Technically the movie is not up to the mark with average camera work. Editing needs to be sharper. And the worst is the background score which leaves you to wonder if it has been done by a 12 year old. Music by Sajid-Wajid is tuneful. 'Don't Say Alvida' and 'Rabba' are the pick of the lot. Kareena is the back bone of the movie and she has given a glorious performance. Salman Khan and Sohail also impress, but just the performances of the lead cast cannot drive home a movie, can it? Others in the cast give their best shot too. Overall decent acting and good music fail to save this movie which has a thin story, poor screenplay and an over the top background score. A big failure for Sohail once again.

FISH BRIYANI- HOW TO PREPARE- RECIPE

Ingredients:
1 kg fish fillets-cut into 1.5 " cubes
2 tbsp oil
1 cup onions-grated
1 tsp ginger paste
1 tsp garlic paste
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp garam masala
1 tbsp coriander powder
1 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp turmeric powder
1.5 tsp salt
1 cup hung yogurt

1 cup coriander leaves-chopped

green chillies to taste-finely chopped

1 tsp biryani masala
1/3 cup browned onions

For the rice

2 cup rice-cleaned and washed
2 tsp oil
4 cloves
4 peppercorns
1 cinnamon-broken
4 green cardamoms
1 tsp salt
3 cups hot water
saffron or color mixed in 1 cup warm milk

Method:

Heat oil and add cumin seeds. When they splutter, add onions and ginger-garlic pastes. Stir fry till fat separates.
Add the garam masala, coriander powder, chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt and yogurt and saute till fat separates.
Mix in the fish and cook over high heat till opaque. Mix in the browned onions, coriander, green chillies and biryani masala.
To make the rice, heat oil and add cloves, peppercorns, cinnamon and cardamoms. When they darken a bit, add rice, water and salt. Mix well and cook till rice is tender but still holds its shape.
To serve, put the fish layer at the bottom of the dish, cover with the rice and sprinkle the rice milk mixture. Keep in an oven or over low heat, over a tawa for about 15 minutes. Mix to break up the layers and serve.
Note: you can also marinate the fish with masala first.

AADHAVAN MOVIE REVIEW

K S Ravikumar-directed Aadhavan, which has Suriya and Nayantara in lead roles, is a signature Ravikumar movie, with a perfect blend of action, comedy, sentiment, and romance, but the magic which Ravikumar has created with his earlier movies is absent. The movie is all about the life of a contract killer, Suriya, who has been assigned by his father, Shiyaji Shinde, for murdering a magistrate, after he enters into a deal with Rahul Dev. But Aadhavan, due to some unknown reason, fails to deploy his plot, causing the magistrate to escape. He plans for a second time also, but that also fails. This is when he comes across Saroja Devi and her daughter, Nayantara. The movie moves on to show the relationship between Saroja Devi and magistrate. Could Aadhavan complete his mission? Why Aadhavan has adopted this deadly profession? That is what the rest of the movie is all about.

The movie starts off on a promising note and moves ahead with some thrilling moments and humour. But it gets stuck in the middle and the director loses the grip on the narrative. The script is a complete failure. Surya should never have been depicted in a grey shade till the penultimate scene. The songs look as if they are speed breakers. Despite these negative aspects, Suriya has been successful in essaying the character of a ‘masala’ hero with ease. Nayantara has a new glamorous appeal where as Saroja Devi’s performance is appreciable. Vadivelu’s comedy is one of the major plus points of the movie. Showing Suriya in negative shade till the penultimate scene doesn't auger well for the film. Songs are like speed breakers. Aadhavan scores in the technical department. Attempt to portray Suriya as a 10 year-old-boy is worth a mention. Aadhavan could have been a better movie, but sadly it is not.

The large telescope used by the astronomers has revealed the lower atmosphere of the farthest planet pluto. The scientists found unexpectedly large amounts of methane in the atmosphere, and also discovered that the atmosphere is hotter than the surface by about 40 degrees, although it still only reaches a frigid minus 180 degrees Celsius.

These properties of Pluto's atmosphere may be due to the presence of pure methane patches or of a methane-rich layer covering the dwarf planet's surface. Pluto, which is about a fifth the size of Earth, is composed primarily of rock and ice. As it is about 40 times further from the Sun than the Earth on average, it is a very cold world with a surface temperature of about minus 220 degrees Celsius!

It has been known since the 1980s that Pluto also has a tenuous atmosphere, which consists of a thin envelope of mostly nitrogen, with traces of methane and probably carbon monoxide. As Pluto moves away from the Sun, during its 248 year-long orbit, its atmosphere gradually freezes and falls to the ground. In periods when it is closer to the Sun as it is now, the temperature of Pluto's solid surface increases, causing the ice to sublimate into gas.With lots of methane in the atmosphere, it becomes clear why Pluto's atmosphere is so warm.
